The only Dolby that I know of is a separate application, and not part of RealTek. I have a Lenovo Laptop with RealTek audio and Dolby, but the Dolby is a separate application. My desktop systems that I have all have RealTek audio but there is no Dolby. Both of my desktop systems come with SoundBlaster Advanced Motherboard audio enhancements for the RealTek but it is a separate program, supplied with the Motherboard software and did not come from RealTek. Do you have Dolby software? The specs for the ASRock P55 Pro do not specifically state Dolby. It does say ' Premium Blu-ray audio support' whatever that is.

This morning I began researching Dolby for my HTPC.
I am using a nice set of stereo computer speakers and wondered if all I could ever get was stereo or if Dolby was possible. What I found was Dolby Home Theater or 'Dolby Virtual Speaker' which is supposed to provide the expanded sound quality of Dolby on 2 speaker systems. Then I found this (link below) which intrigued me.
It uses uncertified drivers so I was trying to see if there was another way. Then I found this youtube video.

OK, my computer is the Acer Aspire M5-583, and includes the Dolby as well. Upon refresh it lost my Dolby, so I also had to follow the instructions listed in the previously mentioned video, and the driver as well as the Dolby portion is part of my Realtek drivers downloaded from the support pages for my computer.
I also get the same error PCEE needs to be installed. Thank you ahead of time for any help.
EDIT: Found out problemI FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE VIDEO. Used the setup program itself to remove the drivers that video instructed to manually uninstall from Device Manager. 2 Computer must be restart at this point, even if doesn't tell you to. Restarted setup program, it then installed the drivers again, and added back in the Dolby Surround Sound Program that was missing after 2 restarts initiated by the program, each time the program coming back up after the restart to finish extra stuff. (I think before I mistakenly cancelled out of it when it restarted thinking it was accidentally started.) While this is what worked for me for my computer, the people that have other computers that the dolby software is included should have similar solutions as long as you download the driver for that individual computer from the manufacturers website like I did.

Try the and see if the folks will help you there. As fireberd said, if the board didn't specifically state that it did come with Dolby HT, you won't be able to use it. The Dolby Home Theater software supports a limited number of Realtek HD audio devices and the Realtek audio hardware on the ASRock P55 Pro doesn't seem to be on the 'supported' list for Dolby. Reason why Dolby HT works on your machine is because it first came with it.
Specs on Acer Aspire M series posted. Dolby Advanced Audio v2 is designed into select PC models and is not available for direct purchase or download.
Our experts work with PC manufacturers to custom-tune each model for the best possible audio performance. The SoundBlaster Advanced MB, is the same way. Its OEM only.Dolby Link is now outdated - redirects to (referring to Dolby Advanced Audio v2) for Dolby Home Theater V4 goes. I have a solution for SJMaye but it's an expensive one. The Xonar U7 device has its own drivers that allow use of the Dolby HTv4 software. It won't allow Dolby HTv4 to be used on the onboard Realtek audio device on the ASRock board though. Or replace the ASRock motherboard with a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3, UD5 or UD7 board - those boards have Dolby HTv4 support though the Dolby HT program is bundled on the board's drivers & utilities CD and not on the Gigabyte support site for those boards.
Honestly, ASRock boards never had any Dolby Home Theater support of any kind and never will. Similar help and support threads Thread Forum I recently received the new Alienware 18 with Windows 8.1. Not liking that OS I installed Windows 7 Professional. I downloaded all the appropriate drivers from Dell's website for my specific computer.
For sound I was given Realtek HD audio with Dolby Home Theater v4. I like the program well enough. Sound & Audio Hi, so today i opened my laptop and it did a disk check after it was done i noticed that my Dolby home theater was uninstalled, so I went and downloaded it but whenever it tries to install it gives me a message saying that I need to install PCEE, I have no idea where I can install it from. Sound & Audio Hi all, I have a home theater pc that is crashing when I am not actively using it (though who knows what is going on in the background.). Attached is my sf tool output. Any help is much appreciated! BSOD Help and Support Hey guys!
I'm new here as a user, but I've been here several times before. Alright, I have some questions and maybe some (problems) if possible, would be very glad to solve. So here goes. Okay, so I purchased this Acer Aspire V3-571G Laptop not too long ago. The laptop works great. Sound & Audio Hello I am on a Acer Aspire 5536-5255 currently looking for info on the Dolby Home Theater & ATI Radeon HD 3200 that are in the laptop, I was wondering where can I find the drviers or software for these 2 things? They seem installed on my laptop correctly, but I am looking to make sure.

Upon downloading Microsoft's scrumptious new windows 8 update, I was met with the startling indication that my Dolby audio driver could not start. It said to restart the PC. If that didn't work, It said to reinstall the audio driver. In the fashion of a surgeon operating on his patient, I hounded over my wounded laptop, determined to mend its broken soul. After completing windows two recommended procedures to no avail, I went crawling to Lenovo's feet to update the driver. At this point my patience is warring thin. One could only imagine the flood of frustration the hit me as I realized that the driver update failed to revive my Dolby profile. This is a call. A final reach into the darkness before a fatal plunge into the abyss.
God bless the good Samaritan who finds it in their heart to one, read this horrifically long problem description. And two, come to my aid. The patients vitals are fading. The doctors out. I have the exact same problem on my Lenovo G585 since upgrading at Microsoft's suggestion from Windows 8 to 8.1. Dolby Advanced Audio V2 worked perfectly fine on Windows 8, but not on Windows 8.1. The sound in Windows 8 on my laptop was first class, now it is just awful. I have uninstalled the driver and Dolby Advanced Audio V2, rebooting after each uninstallation and then reinstalling it and I get the same error message as soon as Dolby Advanced Audio V2 is reinstalled. Please can someone help me as it is really frustrating me now as to why this cannot be fixed?
